    SEE ALSO...

LBP1 Antibody (327C1a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects LBP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-LBP1 antibody (327C1a) is available as a non-conjugated format. LBP1, also known as Upstream-binding protein 1, UBP1, LBP1A, or LBP1B, is a 540 amino acid protein belonging to the grainyhead transcription factor family, which plays a crucial role in various cellular processes. LBP1 is primarily located in the nucleus, functioning as a transcriptional activator, regulating the expression of key genes such as CYP11A1 in the placenta and activating the hemoglobin globin promoter in erythroid cells. Nuclear localization of LBP1 is essential for gene regulation, allowing direct interaction with DNA and other transcriptional machinery. LBP1 also represses HIV-1 transcription by binding to TFIID, preventing interaction with the viral promoter region. Absence of LBP1 has been linked to uterine growth retardation in mouse embryos, highlighting critical involvement in extraembryonic angiogenesis. LBP1 can form homodimers and heterodimers with LBP-9, which negatively regulates LBP1 expression, further illustrating the complexity of regulatory mechanisms.

I am using LBP1 (327C1a): sc-81310 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
