LASP-1 Antibody (KK-M25) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects LASP-1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LASP-1, also known as MLN50, is a 261 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of actin-associated cytoskeletal organization, as LASP-1 interacts with F-Actin and is localized to both the cytoplasm and the cytoskeleton. The presence of one SH3 domain, one LIM zinc-binding domain, and two nebulin repeats in LASP-1′s structure is significant, as these domains facilitate protein-protein interactions that are essential for maintaining cellular architecture and motility. Additionally, LASP-1 is expressed in two alternatively spliced isoforms, which may contribute to functional diversity in various cellular contexts. Notably, LASP-1 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can influence LASP-1′s role in actin-related ion transport activities in epithelial cells. LASP-1 overexpression has been linked to breast cancer, indicating LASP-1′s potential involvement in tumor transformation and metastasis. The gene encoding LASP-1 is located on human chromosome 17, a region that encompasses over 2.5% of the human genome and contains more than 1,200 genes, highlighting LASP-1′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
