QUICK LINKS

λ-Cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid, which is a man-made version of the naturally occurring pyrethrum found in chrysanthemum flowers. This insecticide has the capability to eliminate target insects either through direct contact or ingestion. Due to its long-lasting residual effect, λ-Cyhalothrin is a preferred active ingredient in many pest control products. In terms of physical properties, λ-Cyhalothrin is a colorless chemical that can also appear beige in solid form. It possesses a mild odor and has low water solubility while being nonvolatile. Pest control products containing λ-Cyhalothrin come in various forms, such as liquid concentrates, dusts, granules, and formulations. These products act swiftly to treat a wide range of household pests, functioning upon contact or ingestion. Like other pyrethroids, λ-Cyhalothrin disrupts and compromises the central nervous system of targeted insects. This leads to the overstimulation of insect nerve cells, resulting in paralysis. As the paralyzed insects are unable to carry out their regular bodily functions, they ultimately perish due to starvation. The insecticide is highly effective in spreading and eliminating entire colonies of target insects. λ-Cyhalothrin is a versatile active ingredient used in various formulations, including liquid concentrates, gel baits, and rodenticides. For optimal use, λ-Cyhalothrin is recommended as a barrier treatment around structures or as a broadcast treatment on landscapes, shrubs, and ornamentals. It breaks down quickly, posing no harm to plants while effectively controlling pests.
