L-Serine O-sulfate potassium salt (L-SOS) is a sulfur-bearing amino acid derivative that has been extensively studied for its biochemical and physiological impacts. L-Serine O-sulfate potassium salt has found a variety of applications in scientific research, including, but not limited to, investigations of cell signaling pathways, enzyme activity, and metabolic regulation. It has been employed to investigate the influence of L-serine sulfate on nitric oxide production and its role in regulating mitochondrial function. Furthermore, L-Serine O-sulfate potassium salt has been used to examine the effects of oxidative stress on cell viability and its prospective role in staving off neurodegenerative diseases. The exact mechanism of action of L-Serine O-sulfate potassium salt remains to be fully clarified. Nonetheless, it is postulated to serve as an intermediary in the synthesis of nitric oxide and other sulfur-bearing compounds. It has also been suggested that L-SOS might function as an antioxidant.
