KV1.1 Antibody (2D8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KV1.1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KV1.1 antibody (2D8) is available as the non-conjugated format. KV1.1 protein plays a crucial role in the functioning of voltage-gated potassium channels, which are essential for the repolarization of action potentials in neurons and muscle cells. These channels are vital for maintaining electrical excitability of cells, influencing processes such as muscle contraction and neurotransmitter release. KV gene family, which includes over 30 genes, encodes subunits that form potassium channels, and diverse gating and permeation properties are critical for precise regulation of cellular excitability. KV1.1 protein specifically forms tetramers with other KVα subunits and can interact with KVβ subunits, which modulate channel gating behavior. Understanding interactions and regulatory mechanisms of KV1.1 is important for elucidating roles in various physiological processes and potential pathologies, including neurological disorders.
