KLHL1 Antibody (3A8B3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects KLHL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KLHL1 (3A8B3) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format. KLHL1 protein, also known as kelch-like protein 1, consists of 748 amino acids and serves as a homolog of the Drosophila kelch protein. KLHL1 is primarily localized to the cytoskeleton and features six kelch repeats along with one BTB (Broad-Complex, Tramtrack and Bric a brac) domain, which is crucial for actin organization. The BTB domain facilitates homodimerization and is essential for structural integrity, allowing interaction with various partners involved in cytoskeletal dynamics. KLHL1 is highly expressed in the brain, where KLHL1 plays a significant role in modulating neurite outgrowth, thereby influencing neuronal development and function. Expression of KLHL1 can be downregulated by the spinocerebellar ataxia type 8 (SCA8) protein, which is implicated in the neuropathogenesis of SCA8, a disorder characterized by symptoms such as limb and truncal ataxia, ataxic dysarthria, and horizontal nystagmus. KLHL1′s ability to interact with other proteins involved in cytoskeletal organization underscores KLHL1′s importance in maintaining neuronal health and function, making anti-KLHL1 antibody (3A8B3) a valuable tool for researchers studying neurodegenerative diseases and cytoskeletal dynamics.
