    SEE ALSO...

Kinectin 1 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Kinectin 1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Kinectin 1 antibody (A-12) is available as a non-conjugated format. Kinectin 1, also referred to as kinesin receptor, is an integral membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), playing a crucial role in the transport of vesicles along microtubules. Strategic positioning within the ER is vital for facilitating the interaction between kinesin motor proteins and their cargo, ensuring efficient intracellular transport. Proper functioning of Kinectin 1 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and supporting various cellular processes, including the distribution of organelles and signaling molecules. Disruptions in Kinectin 1 function can lead to impaired vesicle transport, which has been implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases. Using Kinectin 1 (A-12) antibody in research can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of intracellular transport and the potential pathological consequences of dysregulation.

Can Kinectin 1 (A-12): sc-374577 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, Kinectin 1 (A-12): sc-374577 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent antibody for immunoblotting! The SCBT Kinectin (sc-374577; A-12) antibody detects kinectin proteins at 150 and 250 kDa in HEK293 and HepG2 cell lysates respectively (see the attached Immunoblot). Researchers have reported 160kDa Kinectin protein in the ER fraction and 120kDa form in the mitochondria in mouse neuronal cells (see Santama et al 2004, PMID: 15316074). Also, note the unequal distribution of Kinectin isoforms in Hek293 and hepG2 cells. It’s an excellent antibody and gives very clean band. If you get lower/higher molecular band with this antibody then do not reject as nonspecific band, it might be something interesting (isoform or PTMs) and you must follow it. Who knows you may find something novel! Highly recommend this antibody for your research.
