JRAB Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects JRAB protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). JRAB (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. JRAB protein, also known as junctional Rab13-binding protein or MICAL-like protein 2, consists of 904 amino acids and features one calponin-homology domain and one LIM zinc-binding domain, which are crucial for cellular transport function. JRAB plays a significant role in the interaction with Rab13 and Rab8, facilitating the transport of essential proteins such as claudin-1, occludin, and E-cadherin. This transport is vital for the assembly and maintenance of tight junctions and adherens junctions, which are critical for epithelial integrity and function. Dynamic turnover of these junctions through endocytic recycling is essential for epithelial morphogenesis during development and differentiation. JRAB and Rab13 interaction has been implicated in carcinoma metastasis, particularly in epithelial cell scattering, where both colocalize with F-Actin in lamellipodial structures, highlighting JRAB′s importance in both normal cellular processes and pathological conditions.

What blocking solution should I use with JRAB (F-5): sc-376675 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
