JMJD7 Antibody (11K2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects JMJD7 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-JMJD7 antibody (11K2) is available as a non-conjugated format. JMJD7 plays a pivotal role in regulating chromatin dynamics and gene transcription, primarily through functioning as a histone demethylase. JMJD7 is essential for removing methyl groups from specific lysine residues on histones, which is crucial for maintaining the balance between transcriptionally active and inactive chromatin states. JMJD7′s ability to modulate histone methylation directly influences gene expression patterns and contributes to epigenetic memory governing cell fate decisions. JMJD7 belongs to a larger family of JMJC domain-containing histone demethylases, which are involved in various biological processes, including development and cellular senescence. JMJD7 contains a single JMJC domain and was initially thought to be an alternatively spliced isoform of PLA2G4B, highlighting unique structural characteristics and functional importance in cellular regulation.
