SEE ALSO...

JAM-B Antibody (1G4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects JAM-B protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-JAM-B antibody (1G4) is available as the non-conjugated format. Junctional adhesion molecule B (JAM-B) is a crucial member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, primarily expressed in tight junctions of epithelial and endothelial cells, where JAM-B plays a significant role in maintaining barrier integrity. JAM-B is essential for transendothelial migration of leukocytes, a process vital for immune response and inflammation. JAM-B is constitutively expressed on various immune cells, including circulating monocytes, neutrophils, lymphocyte subsets, and platelets, highlighting JAM-B′s importance in immune cell trafficking and adhesion. The JAM family, which includes JAM-A, JAM-B, and JAM-C, is known for involvement in cell-cell adhesion through homophilic and heterophilic interactions. Notably, JAM-B interacts with JAM-C, suggesting a functional relationship that may influence T cell adhesion and migration during inflammatory responses. This interaction is particularly relevant in T, natural killer, and dendritic cell-mediated inflammation, making JAM-B a critical target for studies related to immune regulation and potential therapeutic interventions.

Can sc-293496: JAM-B (1G4) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293496: JAM-B (1G4) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work for IHCThis antibody was generously given to me by the trials program. I found that it does not work for IHC in retinal tissue. I compared Methanol fixation and PFA fixation, and used the antibody at both 1:50 and 1:250. I didn't have any positive staining with either whole mount or cross-sections. Thank you for the trial.
