ITSA1 (N-(1H-Benzotriazol-1-yl)-2,4-dichlorobenzamide) is an HDAC activator via TSA suppression, but shows no activity towards other HDAC inhibitors. TSA (Trichostatin A) is an inhibitor of histone deacetylase. ITSA1 was found to specifically counteract TSA-induced cell cycle arrest, histone acetylation, transcriptional activation, and cytoplasmic alpha-tubulin acetylation.
