QUICK LINKS

A cell-permeable sesquiterpene lactone with anti-inflammatory properties. A highly specific, potent, irreversible inhibitor of NF-κB activation that prevents IκBα degradation. Does not affect the DNA binding activity of activated NF-κB, or inhibit p59fyn and Src kinase activities. Inhibits IL-8 gene expression in cultured human respiratory epithelium in vitro, and iNOS gene expression in cultured rat aortic smooth muscle cells.
