A potent and highly selective activator of insulin receptor tyrosine kinase (IRTK; EC50 = 300 nM in CHO cells expressing human insulin receptor). It does not activate other closely related receptors such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGFIR), and platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) at concentrations up to 30 µM.
