QUICK LINKS

Iohexol is a nonionic and water-soluble contrast agent that can induce inhibition of electrical activity. Minimal neurotoxicity was indicated both in vitro and invivo when Iohexol was used to induce inhibition of electrical activity in rat and feline specimens. Compared to metrizoate, Iohexol induced a smaller decrease in contractile force in isolated rabbit hearts. Iohexol may also be used in the imaging and visualization of arteries, veins, joints, and the urinary tract.
