QUICK LINKS

Indium is a silver-white metal and is soft and malleable that it can be easily cut with a knife. It is highly ductile and can be stretched into thin wires. Indium element is used in the synthesis of therapeutic particles containing metal ions characterized by the use of unique ligand sets capable of making the metal ion complex soluble in biolgical media to induce selective toxicity in diseased cells. It is also used in the production of liquid-crystal displays (LCDs) and touch screens. Indium is also used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, and it is a common component in photovoltaic cells.
