INCENP Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects INCENP of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-INCENP antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. INCENP, also known as inner centromere protein, plays a pivotal role in chromosome segregation during mitosis, ensuring that replicated chromosomes are accurately distributed to daughter cells. INCENP is essential for the proper functioning of the kinetochore, a structure that forms at the centromere and is critical for the attachment of microtubules during cell division. INCENP is involved in the formation of the chromosomal passenger complex, which also includes Aurora B kinase, and is crucial for regulating various mitotic processes, including the onset of cytokinesis. INCENP′s ability to form homodimers or heterodimers allows interactions with other key proteins such as AURKB, AURKC, CBX3, and β Tubulin, facilitating localization to the mitotic spindle and metaphase chromosomes, and during anaphase, to the equatorial cortex. INCENP′s dynamic localization and interactions underscore its importance in maintaining genomic stability and proper cell division, making INCENP a valuable target for research in cancer biology and cell cycle regulation.
