Imetit dihydrobromide is an effective, high-affinity H3 and H4 histamine receptor agonist with Ki values of 0.3 and 2.7 nM, respectively. This compound initiates an eosinophil shape change (EC50 = 25 nM). Imetit dihydrobromide is equipotent to or slightly more active than (R)-alpha-methylhistamine at H3 receptors.
