QUICK LINKS

Imazaquin is a selective herbicide that functions by inhibiting the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids in susceptible plants. Imazaquin disrupts the normal growth and development of susceptible plants by preventing the synthesis of proteins necessary for their survival. Imazaquin′s mechanism of action involves binding to the ALS enzyme, thereby blocking its activity and leading to the accumulation of toxic compounds within the plant cells. As a result, the affected plants experience stunted growth, chlorosis, and ultimately die.
