QUICK LINKS

Imazamox is an imidazolinone herbicide which acts by inhibiting acetohydroxyacid synthase activity. This enzyme is for the synthesis of certain amino acids, so its inhibition leads to a disruption of protein synthesis and subsequent plant growth. Imazamox can control a broad spectrum of weeds, including various grasses and broadleaf weeds. It is used in a variety of agricultural settings, including the cultivation of certain genetically modified crops that are resistant to this herbicide.
