IL-2R Antibody (A00073.01) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the IL-2R protein of mouse origin by flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-IL-2R antibody (A00073.01) is available as a non-conjugated format. The IL-2 receptor is a crucial multicomponent complex composed of three subunits: α, β, and γ, which are essential for high-affinity binding of interleukin-2 (IL-2). The α chain primarily facilitates the binding of IL-2, while the β and γ chains are vital for both IL-2 binding and the activation of signaling pathways that promote T cell proliferation and survival. Notably, the γ chain, also known as γc, serves as a common subunit for several cytokine receptors, including IL-4R and IL-7R, enhancing their ligand binding capabilities. This shared functionality underscores the importance of the γc chain in mediating immune responses, as γc plays a pivotal role in the signaling cascades that lead to T cell activation and differentiation. IL-2R′s ability to mediate these processes is critical for maintaining immune homeostasis and responding effectively to infections, making IL-2R a significant target for therapeutic interventions in various immune-related disorders.
