SEE ALSO...

IL-1RII Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IL-1RII of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IL-1RII antibody (G-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IL-1RII serves as a decoy receptor for interleukin-1 (IL-1), which is crucial in regulating inflammatory responses. By binding to IL-1 without activating downstream signaling pathways, IL-1RII plays a vital role in modulating inflammation and preventing excessive immune responses. This decoy mechanism is particularly important in conditions where inflammation needs to be controlled, as IL-1RII helps to sequester IL-1, thereby reducing its availability to engage with signaling receptors that promote pro-inflammatory pathways. Furthermore, the soluble form of IL-1 receptor accessory protein significantly enhances IL-1α and IL-1β binding affinity to IL-1RII, which underscores the complexity of regulatory mechanisms involved in IL-1-mediated inflammation. Dexamethasone and other immunosuppressive agents′ ability to induce IL-1RII expression further illustrates IL-1RII antibody (G-5)′s potential in research and therapeutic applications aimed at understanding and manipulating inflammatory processes.
