IL-1F9 Antibody (Y-12) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects IL-1F9 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IL-1F9 antibody (Y-12) is available as a non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this important cytokine. IL-1F9, also known as interleukin-1 family member 9 (IL-1εF9), interleukin-1 homolog 1 (IL-1H1), or interleukin-1 ε (IL-1ε), plays a crucial role in immune response by activating IL-1Rrp2 and IL-1RAcP-dependent signaling pathway, which leads to activation of transcription factor NFκB. This activation is vital for promoting host response to injury or infection, highlighting IL-1F9′s significance in inflammatory processes. IL-1F9 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as skin, stomach, lung, and esophagus, where IL-1F9 can influence local immune responses. Additionally, IL-1F9 expression can be modulated by various cytokines, including interferon-gamma, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and interleukin-1 beta, as well as by bacterial lipopolysaccharide, indicating IL-1F9′s role in both innate and adaptive immunity. IL-1F9′s ability to interact with other members of IL-1 superfamily, such as IL-1F5, which acts as an antagonist, further underscores IL-1F9′s importance in maintaining immune response balance.
