Ifenprodil hemitartrate is an NMDA receptor antagonist, acting at the polyamine site. Ifenprodil hemitartrate is also an alpha-adrenergic vasodilator. sigma2 ligand displaying about 3-fold selectivity over sigma 1 sites. Ifenprodil hemitartrate functions as an NMDA receptor antagonist, specifically targeting the polyamine site. Additionally, it acts as an α-adrenergic vasodilator. It exhibits approximately three times more selectivity for σ2 sites compared to σ1 sites.
