ICAM-1 Antibody (28) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody raised against amino acids 46-160 of human ICAM-1, demonstrating reactivity with human species. Anti-ICAM-1 antibody (28) is suitable for applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). ICAM-1, also known as CD54 or intercellular adhesion molecule-1, is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. ICAM-1 is primarily located on the cell surface membrane of endothelial cells and immune cells, playing a crucial role in mediating cell-cell adhesion during immune responses. ICAM-1 membrane localization facilitates direct interaction with leukocyte integrins such as LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18), enabling leukocyte adhesion and transmigration across the endothelium during inflammation. ICAM-1 expression is upregulated in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-1β and TNF-α, making ICAM-1 a key molecule in the regulation of immune and inflammatory responses. Altered expression of ICAM-1 is associated with various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular disorders, and cancer metastasis. Understanding ICAM-1 distribution and function is essential for research into these diseases and for developing potential therapeutic strategies. ICAM-1 monoclonal antibody (28) provides a valuable tool for studying ICAM-1 expression, localization, and function in physiological and pathological processes.
