Datasheets
  • Hydroxyprogesterone Antibody (HPRO-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 Hydroxyprogesterone antibody provided at 100 µg/ml
  • raised against 17 alpha 17α Hydroxyprogesterone conjugated to BSA
  • recommended for detection of Hydroxyprogesterone by ELISA; also recommended for detection of 17 Hydroxyprogesterone; non cross-reactive with BSA
  • At present, we have not yet completed the identification of the preferred secondary detection reagent(s) for Hydroxyprogesterone Antibody (HPRO-1). This work is in progress.

Hydroxyprogesterone Antibody (HPRO-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects Hydroxyprogesterone protein of non-species reactive by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Hydroxyprogesterone antibody (HPRO-1) is available as a non-conjugated format. Hydroxyprogesterone, also known as 17alpha Hydroxyprogesterone, plays a crucial role as a C-21 steroid hormone, serving as an intermediary in the synthesis of cortisol, which is vital for stress response and metabolic regulation. This hormone is produced during the biosynthesis of glucocorticoids and sex steroids and interacts with various progesterone receptors, influencing reproductive processes and maintaining pregnancy. Hydroxyprogesterone is distinct from Hydroxyprogesterone caproate, a synthetic variant that shares structural similarities with megestrol acetate and medroxyprogesterone acetate. Hydroxyprogesterone is primarily synthesized in the adrenal glands and, to a lesser extent, in the gonads, particularly in the corpus luteum of the ovary. Elevation during the third trimester of pregnancy is largely due to fetal adrenal development, and has been associated with a reduction in the risk of preterm delivery, highlighting significance in maternal and fetal health.
