QUICK LINKS

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme widely present in nature. In addition to humans, it is found in the organs and bodily fluid of nematodes, leeches, snakes, scorpions, bees, spiders, wasps, hornets, caterpillars, lizards, and fish. Hyaluronidase is also present in the secretions of virus, bacteriophage, fungi and bacteria. It is used in the preparation of DMEM/F-12 media. Hyaluronidase is a component of digestion solution for the derivation of germline stem cells in certain types of cancer. It cleaves hyaluronic acid at the β-D-GalNAc-(1→4)-β-D-GlcA bond, yielding 3-(4-deoxy-β-D-gluc-4-enuronosyl)-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine tetra- and hexasaccharides.

How should the enzyme be reconstituted for long-term storage and at these conditions how long is the enzyme stable for?

Asked by: harding
Thank you for your question. The product has buffer present (it is lyophilized from 0.5 mM Tris buffer at pH 7), it is soluble in 1 mL of water and should be stored refrigerated; do not freeze since it is not known what effect freeze/thawing would have on the solutions. Unfortunately we do not have an estimate of stability time for refrigerated enzyme solutions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works as expectedThis hyaluronidase was cheaper and more readily available than options offered by some other companies, with same apparent enzyme activity. Documentation was not included, but technical support was very helpful in determining resuspension and storage methods.
