Hyaluronic acid is a substrate of Hyaluronidases. Hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide comprised of repeating disaccharide units of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine, holds significant prominence in nature as a major constituent of the extracellular matrix. This versatile compound can be found abundantly in various tissues, including synovial fluid, skin, and cartilage. Functionally, hyaluronic acid plays a role in the extracellular matrix by participating in a multitude of biological processes, such as facilitating cell adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, and migration.
