SEE ALSO...

HXK II Antibody (1A7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HXK II in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HXK II antibody (1A7) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. HXK II plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism by catalyzing the phosphorylation of glucose to glucose-6-phosphate, the first step in the glycolytic pathway, which is essential for energy production in cells. This enzyme is particularly important in tissues that require high levels of glucose, such as adipose and skeletal muscle, where HXK II facilitates glucose uptake and utilization. The regulation of HXK II activity is vital for maintaining glucose homeostasis, and disruption can lead to metabolic disorders, including diabetes. Additionally, HXK II is one of four hexokinase isoenzymes, each with distinct regulatory properties and tissue distributions, highlighting the complexity of glucose metabolism in different physiological contexts. Understanding HXK II function and regulation is critical for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at metabolic diseases.
