    SEE ALSO...

HUGT2 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects HUGT2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HUGT2 antibody (G-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. HUGT2, also known as UGCGL2 (UDP-glucose ceramide glucosyltransferase-like 2) or UGT2 (UDP-glucose: glycoprotein glucosyltransferase 2), is a 1,516 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in the kidney, pancreas, heart, and skeletal muscle. HUGT2 is crucially located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum and the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment, where HUGT2 plays a vital role in the quality control of glycoproteins. HUGT2 functions by targeting unfolded glycoproteins for glucosylation in a calcium-dependent manner, although HUGT2 can utilize manganese in the absence of calcium. This enzymatic process is essential for ensuring that only properly folded proteins are transported to their final destinations, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis. Notably, alterations in HUGT2 expression have been observed in patients with type 2 diabetes, indicating potential defects in their endoplasmic reticulum glycoprotein quality control mechanisms. HUGT2′s ability to attach single glucose residues to improperly folded glycoproteins underscores HUGT2′s importance in carbohydrate processing and cellular function, making HUGT2 (G-7) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying glycoprotein quality control and related metabolic disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515421 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
