HSBP1 Antibody (2C3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HSBP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HSBP1 antibody (2C3) is available as a non-conjugated format. HSBP1, or heat shock factor-binding protein 1, is a crucial nuclear protein composed of 76 amino acids that plays a significant role in the cellular response to stress. HSBP1 functions primarily as a negative regulator of the heat shock response by binding to heat shock factor 1 (HSF1), which is essential for the transcriptional activation of heat shock genes. Under normal conditions, HSF1 exists as a monomer, but upon stress, HSF1 forms trimers, translocates to the nucleus, and activates the expression of heat shock proteins that help protect cells from damage. The regulation of HSF1 by HSBP1 is vital because HSBP1 ensures that the heat shock response is appropriately modulated, preventing excessive activation that could lead to cellular dysfunction. HSBP1 serves as an important target for studies related to stress responses and cellular protection mechanisms, particularly in the context of diseases where heat shock protein expression is altered.
