HoxA5 Antibody (129C1a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects HoxA5 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). HoxA5 is a crucial transcriptional regulator that plays a significant role in the expression of multiple target genes, including the tumor suppressor p53 and the progesterone receptor, making HoxA5 vital for cellular responses to DNA damage, particularly in breast cancer cells. HoxA5′s importance extends beyond regulatory functions; HoxA5 is dynamically expressed during critical developmental processes such as gut development and organogenesis of the respiratory tract. Notably, HoxA5 is continuously expressed from the neonatal period into adulthood in cerebellar Purkinje cells, highlighting HoxA5′s role in maintaining neuronal function. Furthermore, HoxA5 is essential for the region-specific differentiation of the endoderm and the myeloid lineage, as well as for the correct specification of the cervical and upper thoracic regions of the skeleton, which is crucial for proper embryonic patterning. Loss of HoxA5 expression has been linked to tumorigenesis, particularly in primary breast carcinomas, where HoxA5 correlates with the loss of p53 expression, underscoring HoxA5′s importance in cancer biology.
