HIVEP1 Antibody (2417C2 a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HIVEP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). HIVEP1, also known as human immunodeficiency virus type I enhancer binding protein 1, CIRIP (cirhin interaction protein), MBP-1 (major histocompatibility complex binding protein 1), ZNF40, CRYBP1 (αA-crystallin binding protein 1), or PRDII-BF1 (positive regulatory domain II binding factor 1), is a large DNA-binding protein that belongs to the ZAS family and plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation of various genes. HIVEP1 is characterized by a unique structure, which includes a pair of C2H2 zinc fingers, a serine/threonine-rich sequence, and an acidic-rich region, along with a ZAS domain. This structural composition facilitates HIVEP1 binding to specific DNA sequences, such as the 5′-GGGACTTTCC-3′ motif found in the IFN-β promoter and enhancer within the HIV-1 long terminal repeat, thereby influencing gene expression. HIVEP1 is ubiquitously expressed and interacts with various proteins, including those involved in T-cell activation, highlighting HIVEP1′s importance in immune response regulation. Multiple isoforms of HIVEP1 exist due to alternative splicing events, further underscoring HIVEP1′s functional diversity and potential implications in different biological processes.
