Histone H2A.X Antibody (938CT5.1.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets Histone H2A.X, also known as X variant Histone H2A or H2AX. Histone H2A.X is a member of the Histone H2A family involved in the nucleosomal organization of chromatin, differing from other H2A variants by a highly conserved C-terminal motif. Histone H2A.X plays a crucial role in DNA damage response. Upon ionizing radiation or DNA double-stranded breaks, H2A.X is rapidly phosphorylated to form γ-H2A.X, facilitating the recognition and repair of damaged DNA. γ-H2A.X initiates the recruitment of repair factors such as Rad50, Rad51, and BRCA1, and forms nuclear foci during class switch recombination in immunoglobulin genes. Anti-Histone H2A.X antibody (938CT5.1.1) is raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 115-143 in the C-terminal region of human Histone H2A.X and is reactive with human-origin H2A.X in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP) applications. This unconjugated Histone H2A.X (938CT5.1.1) antibody allows for versatile use in various research settings, particularly those studying chromatin organization and DNA repair mechanisms.
