HHV-8 K8.1A Antibody (2A3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects HHV-8 K8.1A protein of viral species reactivity by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). HHV-8 K8.1A plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Kaposi′s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, as HHV-8 K8.1A is the predominant form associated with the virion envelope, consisting of 228 amino acids. HHV-8 K8.1A features a cleavable signal sequence, a transmembrane domain, and multiple glycosylation sites, including four N-glycosylation sites and O-glycosylation sites, which are essential for proper folding, stability, and function. These post-translational modifications influence HHV-8 K8.1A interactions with host cell receptors, particularly heparan sulfate molecules on the surface of target cells, thereby facilitating viral entry and infection. HHV-8 K8.1A glycoprotein′s ability to mediate these interactions underscores HHV-8 K8.1A importance in the viral lifecycle and potential as a target for therapeutic interventions. Anti-HHV-8 K8.1A antibody (2A3) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of HHV-8 pathogenesis and the development of related diseases.
