HHV-6 Antibody (2001) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HHV-6 protein by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-HHV-6 antibody (2001) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. Human herpes virus type 6 (HHV-6) belongs to the Herpesviridae family, which includes eight distinct viruses causing various diseases in humans and animals. HHV-6 features two closely related variants, HHV-6A and HHV-6B, associated with febrile illnesses and childhood disease exanthem subitum. HHV-6 protein enables viral latency and persistence in host tissues, including monocytes/macrophages, salivary glands, brain, and kidney. HHV-6 protein research is crucial, as viral activation has been linked to demyelinating diseases such as progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) and multiple sclerosis (MS).
