Hex Antibody (HHE5I261) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the Hex protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-Hex antibody (HHE5I261) is available as the non-conjugated format. The homeobox protein Hex, also known as proline-rich homeodomain protein (Prh), is encoded by a divergent homeobox gene that is transiently expressed in various hematopoietic lineages, indicating a crucial role in cellular differentiation. Hex (HHE5I261) antibody recognizes a protein particularly important due to involvement in the differentiation of vascular endothelial cells and the development and maintenance of several organs derived from foregut endoderm, including the lung, liver, and thyroid gland. Hex is expressed during the developmental phases of these organs and continues to be present in adult tissues such as the thyroid, lung, and liver. Additionally, Hex mediates the transcriptional induction of the SMemb/NMHC-B gene through its homeodomain and acts as a transcriptional modulator of cAMP response element-dependent transcription in vascular smooth muscle cells. As a soluble protein, Hex is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm of cultured cells, which underscores a multifaceted role in gene regulation and cellular processes.

I am using Hex (HHE5I261): sc-81284 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
