HESX1 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HESX1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HESX1 (G-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HESX1, also known as Rathke′s pouch homeobox, is a crucial transcription factor belonging to the homeodomain family of DNA-binding proteins. HESX1 plays a vital role in early embryonic development, particularly in forming anterior central nervous system structures, including eyes, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and olfactory bulbs. HESX1 expression begins in embryonic stem cells and regulates gene expression during critical stages of embryogenesis, essential for proper development of these structures. Mutations in HESX1 can lead to disorders such as septo-optic dysplasia, characterized by optic nerve hypoplasia, forebrain defects, and deficiencies in pituitary hormones, including hypothyroidism. HESX1 functions as a transcriptional repressor, influencing gene expression in tissue culture assays, highlighting HESX1′s importance in developmental biology and potential implications in understanding congenital disorders.
