Heptadecyl Acetate (HDA) is a long-chain fatty acid ester that has been used in a variety of applications, including as an emulsifier, surfactant, and lubricant. It forms an amphiphilic layer on the surface of the material it is applied to. This layer can help to reduce surface tension and increase the solubility of the material. Heptadecyl Acetate has been used in the synthesis of polymers, liposomes, and other nanomaterials. It may act to increase cell proliferation and reduce inflammation in human skin cells. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.
