Hep C NS4 Antibody (1G7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects the Hep C NS4 protein of Hep C origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Hep C NS4 (1G7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), providing flexibility for different experimental needs. The Hepatitis C virus, a small, enveloped, single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus from the Flaviviridae family, primarily targets hepatocytes in the liver for replication. This localization allows viral exploitation of liver cellular machinery, leading to production of approximately one trillion viral particles daily in infected individuals. Hep C NS4 plays a significant role in the viral life cycle by enhancing NS3 protein′s proteolytic activity through protein-protein interactions, essential for viral replication and proliferation. The high mutation rate of Hep C, attributed to RNA polymerase′s lack of proofreading, enables immune response evasion, resulting in chronic infections that can progress to liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Understanding Hep C NS4 function and interactions is vital for developing targeted therapies and improving treatment outcomes for those affected by Hepatitis C.

How can Hep C NS4 (1G7): sc-52414 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Trav11
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-52414 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-52414 FITC).
