SEE ALSO...

Hep C NS3 Antibody (1828) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the Hep C NS3 protein of Hep C origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Hep C NS3 (1828) antibody is available as the non-conjugated anti-Hep C NS3 antibody. The Hep C (Hepatitis C) virus is a small, enveloped, single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus belonging to the family Flaviviridae, and poses significant health risks, including chronic infections, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Hep C NS3 plays a crucial role in the virus′s life cycle, possessing both protease and helicase activities that are essential for viral replication and proliferation. The protease function of NS3 is vital for processing the viral polyprotein into functional proteins, while helicase activity unwinds RNA, facilitating replication. This dual functionality not only underscores NS3′s importance in the viral life cycle but also makes NS3 a potential target for antiviral therapies aimed at disrupting Hep C replication. Hep C primarily replicates within hepatocytes in the liver, where viral particles bind to specific receptors on the cell surface, allowing for entry and subsequent replication. The rapid replication of Hep C, producing approximately one trillion particles daily in infected individuals, is exacerbated by a high mutation rate due to the lack of proofreading by RNA polymerase, enabling viral evasion of host immune response.
