HEMK2 Antibody (1C4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the HEMK2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-HEMK2 antibody (1C4) is available as the non-conjugated format. HEMK2, also known as N6AMT1 (N-6 adenine-specific DNA methyltransferase 1), MTQ2, or N6AMT, is a 214 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the methylation of adenine residues in RNA, which is essential for regulating gene expression and maintaining RNA stability. Post-translational modification influences various cellular processes, including RNA processing, translation, and degradation, thereby impacting overall cellular function and response to environmental stimuli. The gene encoding HEMK2 is located on human chromosome 21, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Down syndrome, which highlights the importance of understanding HEMK2′s function in both normal physiology and disease states.
