hCAP-H Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects hCAP-H protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-hCAP-H antibody (H-6) is available as the non-conjugated form. hCAP-H protein, also known as NCAPH (Non-SMC condensin I complex subunit H), BRRN, BRRN1, or CAPH, is a crucial 741 amino acid component of the condensin complex, which plays a vital role in the organization and segregation of chromosomes during cell division. hCAP-H protein is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus during interphase and concentrates in the nucleus during mitosis, highlighting its importance in dynamic chromatin remodeling processes. The condensin complex, of which hCAP-H is a regulatory subunit, is essential for converting interphase chromatin into condensed chromosomes, a process critical for accurate chromosome segregation. Furthermore, hCAP-H undergoes post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation by Cdc2 (cell division cycle 2), which activates the condensin complex and enables chromosome condensation. This regulatory mechanism underscores hCAP-H′s importance in maintaining genomic stability and proper cell division, making hCAP-H a significant target for research in cell biology and cancer studies.
