H-L-Tyr-NH2 Hydrochloride is a synthetic form of the amino acid tyrosine. It is used in scientific research and laboratory experiments as a precursor to other compounds, as a reagent in biochemical reactions, and as a neurotransmitter modulator. For example, it is a precursor for the synthesis of dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine, as well as a reagent for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). H-L-Tyr-NH2 Hydrochloride may act to modulate the activity of the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase, which is involved in the synthesis of these neurotransmitters. In addition, it can modulate the activity of other enzymes, such as phosphodiesterase, and modulate signal transduction pathways.
