GUK1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GUK1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-GUK1 antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GUK1, or guanylate kinase 1, is a 197 amino acid protein characterized by a guanylate kinase-like domain and is a member of the guanylate kinase family. GUK1 is crucial for cellular function as GUK1 catalyzes the ATP-dependent conversion of guanosine monophosphate (GMP) to guanosine diphosphate (GDP), thereby playing a vital role in GMP recycling. GMP recycling is essential for maintaining the balance of guanine nucleotides, which are critical for various signal transduction pathways. GUK1 is ubiquitously expressed and functions as a monomer, indicating a fundamental role in cellular metabolism. Notably, GUK1 overexpression has been linked to pituitary adenocarcinomas, highlighting potential involvement in tumorigenesis and making GUK1 a significant target for cancer research.
