GTPBP1 Antibody (TR-L4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GTPBP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GTPBP1 antibody (TR-L4) is available as a non-conjugated format. GTPBP1, also known as GTP-binding protein 1, is a highly conserved 669 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in protein synthesis regulation, relating to essential G proteins such as EF-1α and EF-Tu. These proteins help ensure accurate protein synthesis, which is vital for cellular function and response to environmental stimuli. GTPBP1 shows strong expression in smooth muscle, brain, thymus, kidney, and lung tissues, with monocytes showing inducible expression by interferon-gamma, suggesting a role in immune responses. While mutations in GTPBP1 don′t cause observable phenotypic abnormalities, genetic redundancy likely exists through proteins like GTPBP2, which shares 44% sequence similarity and overlapping expression patterns, potentially compensating for GTPBP1 function loss. This redundancy highlights GTPBP1′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and balanced protein synthesis.
