GRIP1 Antibody (32) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects GRIP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). GRIP1, a member of the PDZ domain-containing protein family, plays a crucial role in synaptic transmission by interacting with AMPA receptor subunits, specifically GluR-2 and GluR-3, facilitating their localization to the synapse. This localization is vital for proper synaptic function and plasticity, as GRIP1 influences the strength and efficacy of excitatory neurotransmission in the brain. GRIP1 is predominantly expressed in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and olfactory bulb, with expression beginning in early development before the appearance of AMPA receptors, highlighting GRIP1′s importance in neural development. Additionally, GRIP1 is involved in the regulation of receptor endocytosis, particularly in response to phosphorylation events that are critical for processes such as cerebellar long-term depression. GRIP1′s ability to modulate the synaptic presence of AMPA receptors underscores GRIP1′s significance in both normal brain function and the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases. Anti-GRIP1 antibody (32) is an essential tool for researchers studying synaptic dynamics and the molecular mechanisms underlying neural plasticity.
