GOLGA7 Antibody (NO-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GOLGA7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GOLGA7 antibody (NO-2) is available as a non-conjugated format. GOLGA7, also known as Golgin subfamily A member 7 or GCP16, is a multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the Golgi apparatus. GOLGA7 is essential for maintaining Golgi integrity and is involved in protein transport from the Golgi to the cell surface. GOLGA7 undergoes palmitoylation on two cysteine residues, a post-translational modification vital for interaction with golgin 160 and proper Golgi localization. Additionally, GOLGA7 forms a complex with ZDHHC9, functioning as a Ras palmitoyltransferase, necessary for H-Ras and N-Ras protein palmitoylation. This palmitoylation is critical for Ras protein trafficking from the Golgi to the plasma membrane, highlighting GOLGA7′s significant role in cellular signaling and protein transport.
