QUICK LINKS

Ginsenoside Rg3 affects endothelium dependent relaxation in the aorta. Ginsenosides, which are biologically active compounds found in ginseng and other Panax plants, are structurally steroid glycosides derived from squalene, a triterpene. Among them, Ginsenoside Rg3 is a specific panaxadiol present in both white and red P. ginseng. It has demonstrated the ability to induce apoptosis and inhibit angiogenesis in various cancer models. Notably, Ginsenoside Rg3 can be generated through the heating of other ginsenosides, resulting in increased levels in steamed or dried ginseng preparations.
