GANC Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GANC protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GANC (D-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GANC protein, also known as glucosidase, alpha; neutral C, plays a crucial role in glycogen metabolism, specifically in hydrolysis of non-reducing terminal 1,4-linked alpha-D-glucose residues, which is essential for maintaining glucose homeostasis in the body. This 914 amino acid enzyme belongs to glycosyl hydrolase 31 family and is vital for breakdown of glycogen into glucose, a process particularly important in energy regulation and metabolic pathways. GANC gene is located on human chromosome 15q15.1, a region linked to susceptibility to type 2 diabetes mellitus, a condition marked by elevated blood glucose levels. Additionally, chromosome 15 is associated with several genetic disorders, including Angelman syndrome and Prader-Willi syndrome, highlighting GANC′s significance in both metabolic health and genetic disease.
