SEE ALSO...

Gα q Antibody (10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 22-31 of human Gα q, reactive with mouse, rat, human, and canine species, and validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Gα q, a member of the heterotrimeric G protein family, plays a pivotal role in intracellular signaling by coupling cell surface receptors to downstream effector molecules. These G proteins are composed of α, β, and γ subunits, with the α subunit, such as Gα q, responsible for binding and hydrolyzing GTP and directly interacting with effectors to modulate cellular responses. Gα q is integral to the Gq signaling pathway, which activates phospholipase C (PLC) upon stimulation by various extracellular signals, such as hormones, neurotransmitters, and sensory stimuli. This activation leads to the production of second messengers, including inositol trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG), which regulate processes like calcium release and protein kinase activation. Gα q is highly expressed in tissues such as the brain and lungs, where Gα q contributes to critical functions in neural signaling and respiratory regulation, and is also found at lower levels in other tissues. Dysregulation of Gα q-mediated pathways is implicated in a range of pathological conditions, including cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, and certain cancers, underscoring Gα q importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Anti-Gα q antibody (10) is a reliable tool for studying the structure, function, and regulatory mechanisms of this essential G protein subunit in both physiological and pathological contexts. Gα q (10) monoclonal antibody is available in both non-conjugated and conjugated forms to support a wide range of experimental applications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results with Anti Gαq (10) sc-136181Anti-Gαq (10) sc-136181 works great in Western blot. Different amounts of whole neuronal cell extracts were lysed in 25 mM Tris HCl (7.4), 150 mM NaCl, 1% glycerol, 1 mM EDTA, 1% NP-40 and blotted with 1:500 of anti-Gαq. A single band of 42 KDa was clearly visualized by chemiluminescence.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Specific G alpha q antibodyI tested this antibody on HEK293 cells that were transfected with plasmids containing either G alpha 11 or G alpha q. The antibody was specific for G alpha q and had minimal cross-reaction with G alpha 11. However, in a dilution of 1:500 a relatively long (1min+) exposure time was needed, despite good transfection efficiency and high amounts of protein loaded), so the antibody might not work so well for endogenous expression.
